Chief Agricultural House, Pwunsoh, Kolonia

The building itself was built by the Japanese for the man who was known to be the #2 power figure in Micronesia. It was constructed in the mid-1920’s and was one of the best buildings built during the early Japanese times in Ponape. It is of major significance as it represents an important era in Ponapean and Micronesian development. The man whom the house was constructed was the Chief Agriculturist and Weatherman for Ponape and it was because of his Ph.D that he also held his political power.
